New Beginnings

Today as I finished 'The Same Kind Of Different As Me,' I came across the quote: "All good things must end, and nothin ever really ends that something new don't begin."  Although Denver Moore says this with regard to the death of a loved one, I believe this statement still holds true for us all.  It is particularly fitting that I read it today.

My last day of school, June 1st, was full of emotions.  I was excited for the summer break,  proud of how much my students grew, and sad to say goodbye to my colleagues and mentors who have meant so much to me this year.   I am going to miss being the 'Truman Intern.'   I'm going to miss my students and fellow teachers.  I'm going to miss my school.   A great school year, for which I am very thankful, has ended.

Now is the time for something new to begin.  I have accepted a job as a high school math teacher at Pyeongteak International Christian School in South Korea for the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 school years, beginning in August.  The Lord's providence is astounding, and I am beyond excited to be part of His plan in Pyeongtaek.

As I venture to South Korea, I plan on keeping this blog to inform my friends and family of how things are going half way across the world.  In exchange for reading my blog,  I request a few things of you: 1) join me in prayer for the ministry of my new school, 2) keep me updated on your life too, you will also be half way across the world (it's all about perspective), and 3) keep reading my blog, without judgment of my writing skills, so you won't forget about me while I'm away.

Thanks for already taking the time to read my post.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you might be wondering.  I look forward to sharing stories of how the Lord is working in this new beginning stage of my life.
