I began learning Korean from a lady and her son at my church. I'm really excited to learn the language (as much as I can). Korean words are made up of sounds called syllables. And syllables are composed of a consonant and a vowel sound, each which is represented by a symbol (letter). The structure is kind of similar to English. There are 14 consonants and 10 vowels, thus 140 syllables. Currently, I have almost half of them memorized!
Another obvious To-Do list item, buying my plane ticket, was checked off late last week. I am leaving on the morning of Friday July 27th and arriving in Seoul the evening of Saturday July 28th. The finite time that I have left at home is becoming more real to me each day.
Finally, the last accomplishment I am proud to have complete is pictured below!
I believe that prayer is extremely powerful when prayer requests are very specific. I plan to post my detailed prayers and ask you to join with me in lifting them to the Lord. Here are two of my current prayers:
1. I get my Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance by July 20th.
2. The Lord gives me peace in handling the 'leaving' stage of my transition (coined by David Pollock in Third Culture Kids).
Thanks for joining with me in prayer and reading my second post!
P.S.- If you would like one of my 5x7 prayer cards, let me know and I will be more than happy to send one to you!

horray, we're praying for your transition!
